Shawna Danielle Austin passed away on June 19, 2025.
A native of Swannanoa, Shawna was born on June 15, 1977, to Danna DeBerry Austin and Kenneth Daniel Austin. She had one son, McKenzie Blake Dalton; two sisters, Karrie Deaton Silver and T.S. Austin; two brothers, Shawn Deaton and Matthew Deaton; twelve nieces and nephews, and two special nephews, Chaston Garrison and Dawson Tenpenny that she helped raise.
Shawna graduated from Owen High School in 1996 and went on to graduate from Montgomery Community College with a degree in Phlebotomy. She was known to be a loving caring person, with a jokester-like personality, and an infectious laugh that lit up a room. Shawna had an unwavering love for her animals, especially with her dog, Cinderella. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held Sunday, June 29, 2025 at 7:00pm at 28 Scooter Run, Swannanoa.
