Shay was born December 21, 1986 in West Monroe, Louisiana, to parents, Debroah and David Lawrence, and passed from this life February 15, 2025. Shay was known as a wild child in her youth, and she was always found running through the outdoors, barefoot and on her tippy toes, never slowing down for a moment. She developed a fondness for speed, and loved riding her dad's golf cart at like it was a 4-wheeler rounding flying around corners on two wheels! That was the start of her thrill-seeking speed adventures! Shay loved tagging along with her sister, Misty, on the backside of a horse, earning her the nick name "PJ", standing for Pony Jr!
Shay was a lover of many artistic things. She had a love for journaling and drawing, and she loved to sing, but what she loved most was rescuing the "undesirables and unwanted' most of all. She was known to constantly collect and take in the "ugliest" strays and love them until she could find them a place where they belonged.a home that would love them. Amongst these various "Pets of her youth" there was a rattlesnake that Shay had "rescued" and brought into the house by the back of its head, thinking this would be the newest member of the family. It broke her heart when her dad wisely disposed of it!
Shay leaves behind a family that will greatly miss her. She leaves behind her lovely daughter, Jelena; mother and father, Deborah and David Lawrence; brother, Jason Lawrence and wife, Ashley; sister, Misty Lawrence Potton and husband Tom; numerous nieces and nephews; and her fur babies, Xena and Sweet Pea.
She will truly be missed by all that knew and loved her so dearly.
