Shayne Self Priefert

Shayne Self Priefert entered into the arms of her loving Father on Friday, July 7, 2023 at the age of 71 years old. Shayne was born to Buck and Beatrice Johnson Self on January 19, 1952 in Pittsburg, Texas. She was raised on her family's farm in Cookville and attended Cookville School before transferring to Mount Pleasant High School, graduating in 1970.
Shayne is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bill Priefert, and their three sons and wives, Eddie and Randa Priefert, Nathan and Bailey Priefert, and Travis and Amanda Priefert all of Mount Pleasant. Shayne was a loving "Granna" to her seven grandsons Ethan, Landon, Collin, Ayden, Bowdrie, Tucker and Boone Priefert and her four granddaughters Montgomery, McCoy, McCall and Preslee Priefert. Shayne is also survived by her sister Amber Newman of Boerne; sister and brother-in-law Mandy and Danny Smith of Cookville; sister-in-law Vicki Jeter, of Mt. Pleasant; brother-in-law David Bynum of Mt. Pleasant, and numerous nephews and nieces. Shayne was preceded in death by her parents; brother & sister-in-law, Tift & Ella Self; brother-in-law, J.W. Newman; father and mother-in-law, Marvin and Johnni Priefert, sister-in-law Micki Bynum; and brother-in-law James Jeter.
Shayne was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church of Cookville where she taught a children's Sunday school class for many years. She will be remembered by all the lives she has touched as an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend.
Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Bates Cooper Sloan Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant. The service will be held on Monday, July 10, at 10 a.m. at South Jefferson Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant. Interment will be at Priefert family cemetery on the Priefert Ranch. The pallbearers will be her grandsons.
