Shea Allison Stonewall, 48, of Marion, formerly of Marshalltown, peacefully passed away on July 17, 2025. A proud graduate of the Marshalltown High School Class of 1995, Shea obtained her Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene in 1998 and enjoyed a successful career in various dental practices around Cedar Rapids. In the later stages of her career, she shifted her focus to customer service roles.
A passionate outdoor enthusiast, Shea had a profound love for nature, with a special fondness for gardening, particularly lilies. She was also a devoted animal lover, having adopted her beloved pets, Magaline and Little bit. Shea cherished moments spent with friends and family, often engaging in competitive games of bags. Her adventurous spirit led her to travel extensively, where she relished learning about the history of each destination. She had a particular affinity for being near water, enjoying activities like fishing and kayaking.
Shea is survived by her partner, Carl S. May; her brothers, Brett Stonewall and Chad Stonewall (Angie); her half-brother, Sean Mullens; her nieces and nephews Trey, Isabell, Addison and Delaney, Shea shared a special bond with Carl's mother, Maereatha May, and found joy in visiting her in Kansas City. Shea was blessed to have the friendship of Amber Richards and Emily Hall, whom offered their unwavering support throughout her health struggles by attending appointments with her. Their loyalty and commitment truly exemplified the essence of true friendship, as they consistently stood by Shea's side.
Memorial service for Shea will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be held one hour prior, beginning at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family. Shea is preceded in death by her parents, Terry and Greta (Leavy) Stonewall; as well as grandparents, Julius and Malene Stonewall; Thomas and Kathleen Leavy.
Shea will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her radiant presence enriched our lives, and her spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
