Sheila Mae Haley, age 70, of Aurora, Missouri, passed away at 4:22 p.m. on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. She was born June 19, 1955, in the Aurora Community Hospital the daughter of Herman and Agnes (Lentz) Wilson, Sr.
Sheila has lived in Aurora since 1971 where she began attending the Aurora Baptist Temple with Pastor Floyd Friggle where she is still a member and was saved on March 15, 1972. She met Michael Haley at the Aurora High Scholl where she graduated in 1974, and they were married on February 24, 1975.
Sheila had Breast cancer in 2014 and beat it and still worked for Mercy and retired after 21 1/2 years. Then in 2022 she came down with Parateniel cancer and after six rounds of chemo and surgery she prevailed but in February 2023 she found out that the cancer had metastasized to her spleen, liver, and colon.
Sheila is survived by her husband of 50 years, Mike; her mother, Agnes Wilson of Aurora, Missouri; one daughter, Karie Stanley and her husband, Bradley, of Aurora, Missouri; one son, Kevin Haley of Cassville, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Braydon, Grant, Logan, Adrian, Lance, Cole, Brieella and Finnley; four great-grandchildren, Lukas, Selena, Rosalee and Josephine Kate Le Ann; two sisters, Ruby Bullock and her husband, Gary, of Aurora, Missouri and Sarah Converse and her husband, Don, of Republic, Missouri and one brother, John Wilson of Springfield, Missouri.
Sheila was preceded in death by her father, Herman Wilson, Sr; one sister, Hermetta Huffer and one brother, Herman Wilson II.
Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 27, 2025, at Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at the Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora.
Memorial donations may be made payable to the family to help with expenses in care of the funeral home.
She fought a good fight, she kept the faith, she won the race to heaven. Remember me with smiles and laughter, for that's the way I'll remember you all. If you only remember me with tears, don't remember me at all.
