Sheila Graduated nursing school in 1956 and took a commission in the United States Air Force in 1958. She worked as an Operating Room nurse and subsequently trained as a Flight Nurse. She flew many overseas missions including regular flights bringing wounded home from Vietnam. She retired in 1985 having achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and continued working as an OR nurse for a number of years in civilian hospitals. All these people and many others have been a source of support and care for Sheila over the years and to the family now as well. The family is also thankful for the wonderful care she was given at Vitas Healthcare Inpatient Hospice facility on US 1 in Rockledge. Their caring, compassionate care was remarkable in her final days.
