Sheila Madow, age 89, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 23rd. Sheila, born in Bridgeport, was predeceased by her beloved husband, Marshall Madow; and two of her cherished daughters, Lisa Madow and Debra Madow. In addition to her daughter, Sandra Madow Friedman and her husband, Richard, Sheila is survived by her adored grandchildren, Alissa Friedman Bard (David) and Jeffrey Friedman (Ketty). She was further blessed with four great-grandchildren, Max, James, Isabel Bard and Robert Friedman. Sheila is also survived by her much loved, best friend and sister, Barbara Panisch.
Sheila attended high school in Fairfield and attended Boston University. She will be forever remembered as a loving, caring, and courageous woman. She enjoyed cooking, travel, knitting, and walking. She also liked working and owned her own travel agency, where she enjoyed years as a travel consultant. Her top priority was doing anything for and with her family by whom she was loved dearly.
Funeral services will take place on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 12:00 pm at Congregation B'nai Israel, 2710 Park Avenue, in Bridgeport, with interment following at Congregation B'nai Israel Cemetery, 183 Kings Highway East, in Fairfield.
Shiva will be observed at the home of Sandy and Richard Friedman, in Westport, on Friday afternoon and Saturday evening. Donations in Sheila's memory may be made to Mozaic Senior Life and/or Congregation B'nai Israel.
