Sheila Eva Marie Bester, age 82, of Howell, Michigan, passed away on November 2, 2025. She was born on October 29, 1943, to the late William and Evelyn Sanderson.
At a young age, fate brought her together with the love of her life, Theodore Bester II, while camping at Wampler's Lake. Theodore asked Sheila to dance under the pavilion-and the rest, as they say, is history. The two married on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1961, and shared 64 wonderful years together filled with love, laughter, and dancing.
Sheila is survived by her devoted husband, Theodore, and their children Cyndie (Russell) Perlin, Theodore (Karen) Bester III, and Todd (Carla) Bester. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren Lauren (Ryan) Simancek, Kristen (James) Wooster, Sydney Bester, Theodore "Teddy" Bester IV, Trey Bester, and Tori Bester, as well as great-grandchildren James "LJ", Brinleigh, and Ella.
Sheila is also survived by her siblings Barry Sanderson, Sandy (Beth) Sanderson, Craig (Patti) Sanderson, Scott Sanderson, and Mark Sanderson, and was preceded in death by her parents and her sister-in-law Suzie Sanderson.
Sheila was known for her intelligence, creativity, and many talents. A phenomenal baker and cake decorator, her beautifully crafted cakes were a highlight of countless family celebrations. She was also an avid knitter, crocheter, and seamstress-gifting her grandchildren with crocheted baby blankets made with love.
Sheila loved to dance-especially with her husband, Theodore-and had a lifelong affection for the Bee Gees. She cherished traveling out west, finding peace and beauty in Red Rock Canyon, and she always looked forward to her trips to Las Vegas, where she could be found playing the slot machines.
She was blessed with lifelong friendships and shared many cherished memories with her dearest friends Gail, Karen, Bernice, Carol, and Judy. Sheila and Gail shared many fun nights together at the casinos, as well as playing Bingo in Canada.
Those who knew Sheila will remember her as vibrant, caring, and endlessly capable-someone who could truly do it all.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, MacDonald Chapel. 315 N. Michigan Ave., Howell, MI 48843. A memorial service will begin at 12:00 PM.
Memorial contributions may be made in Sheila's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Memories and condolences can be shared with the family online at www.WatkinsFuneralHomes.com
