Theresa Margaret Green, age 66, of Milford, Michigan, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on July 12, 1959, to the late Lamar and Eva Steele, and was raised in South Lyon, Michigan, where she graduated from South Lyon High School in 1977.
From a young age, Theresa had a creative mind and a compassionate heart. She found joy in art, music, and the simple beauty of nature. Whether she was painting, wood burning, airbrushing, or experimenting with graphic design, her artistic touch could be seen in everything she did. She loved to make things beautiful - not just through her art, but through the way she cared for others.
Theresa met the love of her life, Angie Cottingham, in 1995 while the two worked together at the Northville Psychiatric Hospital. Their connection was instant and genuine. Together, they created a warm and welcoming home filled with love and creativity. Angie's passing in 2020 left a void in Theresa's life, but she continued to honor their bond through cherished memories and the love she shared with her family.
Above all else, Theresa was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She is survived by her son Nathan (Shawnie) Green, stepson Chris Cottingham, and by her grandchildren Bella Green, Bradyn Green, Caden Cottingham, and Cara Cottingham, who brought her endless happiness.
Theresa is also survived by her siblings Christopher (Nancy) Steele, Scott Steele, and Denise (Scott) Pitcher, as well as her beloved nephew and nieces Chase, Celena "CC," and Holly, who she treated as her own. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lamar and Eva Steele, and her beloved partner, Angie Cottingham.
Theresa loved being outdoors - tending to her garden, walking through nature trails, or watching birds. She found peace in the quiet moments and beauty in the little things. She enjoyed good music, classic movies, and the company of those she loved.
Those who knew Theresa will remember her as a loving soul who brought warmth, color, and care into the lives of everyone around her.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family online at www.WatkinsFuneralHomes.com
