Gaffney - Sheila Ann Putnam White, age 76, of Gaffney, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026.
Sheila was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who cared deeply for the people in her life. She was especially known for her cooking, particularly her baked goods, which were always enjoyed by family and friends. When her health allowed, she was a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church.
She carried a strong spirit and a personality to match-she could certainly be stubborn when she wanted to be, but the people who knew her best also knew how big her heart was. Her love for her family and friends was steady and sincere.
Sheila is survived by her husband of 55 years, Terry White, and her beloved grandchildren: Ashley Mills (Fred), Chloe McLean (Isaiah), Mason McLean, Natalie Brackins, and Becca Brackins; and her great-grandchildren, JJ and Ona.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Franklin and Mary Sue Barrett Putnam; her two daughters, Angela McLean and Bridget Brackins; and her two brothers, Harold Putnam and Kenneth Putnam.
Though Sheila's family will miss her dearly, they will always carry with them the memories of her warmth, her cooking, her strength, and the love she shared so freely.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 8th, 2026 from 2:00-3:00 pm at Southside Baptist Church, 204 W. O'Neil Street, Gaffney, SC. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00 at the church with Rev. Mark Robertson and Dr. Wofford Caughman officiating. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery in Blacksburg, SC.
