Shelba Jean McNicol (82) of Lancaster, Ohio passed into the waiting arms of her Lord and Savior, surrounded by family and friends at the Pickering House in Lancaster, Ohio on Friday, July 25, 2025. She was born in Urbana, Ohio on February 8, 1943 and moved to Lancaster, Ohio in the early 1970's. She was an avid quilter, entering multiple quilts into the Fairfield County Fair, winning several ribbons, and did quilting for others, even as far away as New York. She was a member of Faith Memorial Church where she served others by providing meals for the Friendly Sixties and funerals, as well as volunteering in the nursery. Her door was always open to family, friends, and neighbors, and anyone in need. She never turned away anyone who was hungry. Shelba was proceeded in death by her husband of fifty years, Charles R. McNicol; mother, Jean Forbush; stepfather, Ray Forbush; brother, Chris Forbush; father-in-law, Raymond McNicol; mother-in-law, Rowena McNicol; aunt, Rosie Tomlinson; sisters-in-laws, Margaret McNicol and Patricia McNicol; and brother-in-law Raymond (Sonny) McNicol. She is survived by her children, Tammy (Bob) Kahle, Annette (Thomas) Patton, Trent McNicol, Amber Brooks, Chad McNicol, Dawnnel (Scott) King; special cousin, Ned (Jane) Tomlinson; brother, Danny Forbush; sister-in-law, Donna Garber; as well as thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at Faith Memorial Church, 2610 West Fair Avenue, Lancaster, Ohio 43130 on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 11:00am with calling hours beginning at 9:00am. Graveside service to follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens 351 Coonpath Road NE, Lancaster, Ohio 43130. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fairhope Hospice, 282 Sells Road, Lancaster, OH 43130, https://fairhopehospice.org/donation-page/.
