Shelby Lynn Klinger (23) of Columbus, OH met her Lord and Savior, Jesus on Friday, February 21, 2025 after battling chronic health issues. She was surrounded by those who loved her both in person and virtually.

She was born on December 19, 2001 in Colorado Springs, CO. On August 27, 2007 she with her sister Allison joined their Forever Family with Brian and Lisa Klinger. 

Shelby was a 2020 graduate from Central Crossing High School and Career Academy. She had a passion for children and especially those with special needs. She worked as a preschool teacher, a nanny, and with I Am Boundless. She loved all animals and would have rescued all of them if she could. She enjoyed diamond paintings, puzzles, and coloring. Shelby loved sunflowers, the beach, and swimming. Shelby was also a jokester and loved playing a good prank.

Shelby is survived by her parents Brian and Lisa Klinger of Columbus, OH, her siblings Allison Pennington (Mike) of Charleston, WV, and Trey Klinger of Columbus, OH. Nephews Wyatt and Tyler Pennington, Niece Athena Songer and many other nephews and nieces, her Grandmothers Florence Meneely and Mary Klinger of OH. Her Grandfathers Robert Meneely of TX and Keith Russel of NE. Aunt Linda Meneely of OH and Uncles Jason Klinger of WA. and Dan McMillin of OH. Her 4-legged companion Piper and reptile Ameila. Aunts and cousins: The Barneys, The McFaddens, The Grigsbys, The Maces, The Betts,The Prestons, and The Clines. Siblings: Shawn Andersen, Valli Stockland, Marni Turnbaugh, and Amanda Robertson. Extended family: The Petrys, The Dillies, The Lees, The Griffins, The Lautenslagers, and Jennifer Thompson. Special friends: Asia Phillips, Cameo Sappington, Onyx Brown, Ashley Woodson, and Abbie Dennis. Many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her Grandfather Jerry Klinger, Great-grandmother Corlene Cluff, Uncle Mike McFadden, Uncle Pete Betts, Uncle Bruce Cline, and dear friend Bailey Coughlin.

The family would like to thank Interim Hospice, especially Dana, Tyra, Ivon, and Lisa for the care and support. We also want to thank all of our friends and family for their support in many ways during this time.

Arrangements are being handled by Families First Cremation and Funeral at Edwards. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025. We are asking for people to dress casually and in bright colors and/or sunflowers. Visitation will be from 11:00am - 12:00pm with services starting at 12:00pm at Vineyard Community Church, 15187 Palmer Road, Reynoldsburg, OH 43068. A light meal will be served at the church at the conclusion of the service.
