It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Shelby Jean Lowther at the age 84. Shelby was born on May 5th, 1941, in Four States, West Virginia to Tony and Hazel Suppa. Shelby left this world to be reunited with her husband, Sam, in Heaven. Sam and Shelby were married for 54 years. She passed away in her home that she loved, surrounded by her family.
Shelby was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sam; son, Mike; and her siblings, Tom, Tony, Jack and Edith.
She leaves behind her loving children, Jody (Bobbie) Lowther, Kathy (Al) Vanderhoff and David (Jenny) Lowther; 15 grandchildren, Jamie, Meghan and Josh (DiNea) Lowther, Misty (Dave) Goodspeed, Jennifer (Natalie) Plum, Jeremiah (Marina) Plum, Dominique (Kevin) Colon and Bryant, Shane and Slade Lowther; 16 great-grandchildren, Jacob Goodspeed, Halley Carlton, Tayla Adkins, Skylar and Madison Lowther, Robert, Able, Momiana and Raina Lowther, Peightyn, Raelyn, Oaklyn and Gretchyn Plum, Hailie Shanks, Anthony Madonio and Adrian Shanks.
Shelby loved cooking, baking, sewing, quilting, playing piano, working in her yard and watching TV with her “little” dog, Oreo. She loved all her grand babies and was always asking when the next one would be born.
Shelby is now reunited with her high school sweetheart, Sam, who lovingly called her “woman.” Shelby was always active in church with a deep faith in God, that she passed on to her children.
Shelby’s laughter, sense of humor, and spitfire attitude will be deeply missed by all that had the privilege of knowing her. She will forever be in our hearts until we meet again.
Her family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Cleveland Clinic Hospice teams for their compassionate care during her final days.
