Shelby David McFarland, 88 of the Hilltop Community in Fleming County passed away early Tuesday morning, March 25, 2025 at the Robertson County Health Care Facility in Mt. Olivet, Kentucky after an extended illness. He was born in Fleming County, Kentucky January 27, 1937 a son of the late Alex T. McFarland and Mamie Duncan McFarland.
Shelby was a member of the Hilltop Christian Church, a Gideon and enjoyed going to church. He was also an avid cat lover, always enjoyed a good meal and attending farm auctions.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Ona Moran.
Survivors include his nephews, Larry Moran, Verlin Moran and Wentzel Moran. Also a niece Linda Persinger. Special friends Greg Gray and his family and his roommate at Robertson County Health Care, John McIntyre.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Thursday, March 27, 2025 in the chapel of the Price Brothers Funeral Home in Elizaville, Kentucky with Brother Bruce Barnes officiating.
Burial will follow in the family plot at the Elizaville Cemetery.
Visitation at the Price Brothers Funeral Home is after 12:00 Noon Thursday.
Family and friends will serve as pall bearers.
