She had a love and passion for hiking, working in her yard, gardening, canning, cooking, and camping. She took pride in taking care of family and friends.
She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charlie Grooms and Rosa Lee Grooms; brother Dan Grooms; and sister Joyce Grooms Clevenger.
She is survived by her son Perry Owens (Sheila); and daughter Gina (Nathaniel) James.
The family would like to thank the staff of Fort Sanders ICU and a special "Thank You" to the nurses Shawn and Parker.
The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m., Sunday, October 26, 2025 with funeral services following at 6 p.m. in the Manes Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday, October 27, 2025 in Union Cemetery.
Family and friends may sign the guest register online at www.manesfuneralhome.com.
