Sheldon Alan Berkowitz of Wilmington, DE passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025, at the age of 78. Surrounded by his loving family. He was a proud graduate of both Rider University and Widener University. Followed by a long career in Human Resources Administration.
Being an avid reader, Sheldon loved spending time at local libraries. He especially enjoyed reading his Sunday New York Times. If Sheldon wasn’t reading, he would be watching Philly sports, putting together puzzles, or listening to the music of Leonard Cohen. If there was one thing Sheldon loved more than Diet Coke and Tasty Cakes, it was his summers at Margate, NJ, where you would be sure to find him pool side telling stories, and giving guidance about investing in the stock market.
Survived by his wife of 56 years, Rhona Berkowitz (nee Permutter). Loving father of Holly (Steve) Michels and Allan (Cindy) Berkowitz. Proud grandfather of Ally and Drew Berkowitz and his Furry companion, Zacky. Brother of Lewis (Marti) Berkowitz and his sister-in-law Kathy Berkowitz. Sheldon is also survived by many loving family and friends.
Preceded in death by, his parents Rubin and Jean Berkowitz, and brother Michael Berkowitz.
