Sheldon D. Moe was born on January 24, 1940, in Volga, SD, the son of Charles and Ruth (Stolsig) Moe.
Sheldon grew up on the family farm north of Oakwood Lakes and farmed it for many years and was later employed for Prunty's. He then started his job career with 3M in Brookings from their opening day until his retirement 28 years later. After his retirement he drove school bus, and the summer months worked as a tour bus and limousine driver.
He enjoyed going to coffee and working on trivia.
