Obituary
Shelley "Shel" Iverson Stives IV, age 50, of Hendersonville, Tennessee was born on September 18, 1972 to Brenda Miller Stiles and the late Shelley Iverson Stiles III.
Shel is survived by his twin children, Sophia Stiles and Shel V, ages 15; his mother, Brenda Miller Stiles; his brother, Marshell B. Stiles; his sisters, Rachael B. Seymour and Shannon Stiles; and his longtime companion, Elizabeth Nagel Dick.
In addition to his father, Shel is preceded in death by his wife, Anne Marie Stiles.
Shel graduated from Hendersonville High School and Western Kentucky University with a degree in government. He was employed in city government, as well as state government early in his career. Later, he worked for Mayer Electric in Nashville for many years.
One of his greatest joys was watching the Steelers football games with his family. Shel played tennis, basketball, and football in high school, college, and on city leagues after college.
Being near the ocean and the lake brought him peace.
Shel will always be remembered for his flashing eyes, handsome smile, and quick wit.
Visitation for Shel will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Hendersonville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Hendersonville Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hendersonville Memory Gardens after the funeral service.
