Shelley Lyn Villemaire

Shelley Lyn Villemaire passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 10, 2025, in Burlington, VT, following complications from a major car accident on January 2, 2025. She spent the last four months fighting with strength and determination to return home. Her loved ones take comfort in knowing she is now at peace and free from pain.
Born on September 10, 1951, in Burlington, VT, Shelley was the beloved daughter of Elaine "Mimi" (Newcity) and Robert Brochu. Throughout her life, she brought warmth and joy to those around her with her generous spirit and unwavering love.
Shelley is survived by her greatest joys, her two sons, Joe and Jason Villemaire. She also cherished her bonus daughters, Shanna and Cassandra, and found immense happiness in the presence of her bonus grandchildren, Harlow and Dean. Shelley is further survived by her sister, Lisa Terjelian (partner, Richard), as well as numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
She is predeceased by her parents, Elaine and Robert Brochu and brother, Michael.
Known for her boundless compassion and nurturing heart, Shelley became a mother figure to many. Her circle of friends and extended family was vast-everyone who knew her felt the depth of her care and kindness. She was affectionately known as Gma, Mama Shell, and Mama V to all her "kids".
She had a passion for red wine, cooking, watching cooking shows, reading about culinary arts, and indulging in Lifetime movie marathons. These simple pleasures brought her great delight and reflected her vibrant personality. Shelley's memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. May her legacy of love continue to bring comfort to those she touched.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 6th at 1 p.m. in the New Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 79 Plattsburg Avenue, Burlington. A memorial gathering honoring our beloved mother, Shelley, will follow from 3-6 p.m. at one of her favorite restaurants, Black Flannel Brewing Co., 21 Essex Way #201, Essex Junction, VT.
