Joy Anne Parsons (Papin), 83 years of age of Williston, VT died peacefully, surrounded by her family, on October 1, 2025, at the McClure Miller Respite House.
She was born on February 5, 1942, in Burlington, VT, the daughter of Edward C. and Rita H. (St. Francis) Papin. She was a graduate of Rice Memorial High School, class of 1960. She was married to Alfred Parsons and had just celebrated their anniversary. Joy retired from General Electric on Lakeside Avenue after many years of faithful service. Joy was a devoted follower of Christ for all of her life, and was an active member of the Christian Faith Assembly in Williston, VT.
She is survived by:
her husband-Alfred Parsons
her two sons-Jeffrey Garfeld and wife Kathy, Bradley Garfield and wife Maile
her brother-Edward C. Papin Jr. and wife Diane
her sister-Francis Tilley
seven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren
A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m at Ready Funeral & Cremation Service, South Chapel, 261 Shelburne Road, Burlington with interment to follow in Deer View Cemetery in Williston at 1pm. A reception for friends and family will be held at the Community Center in Williston Woods immediately following the interment ceremony.
