Sheree Segebart Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Iowa Cremation - Cedar Rapids on Jan. 31, 2024.
Sheree Lynn Segebart, 68, of Calmar, IA passed away on January, 20th 2024 at home with her daughter and son-in-law. Per her request, there will be no services.
Sheree was born on October 15th, 1955 to Larry Lee and Connie Kay (Holtz) Browne in Maquoketa, IA. Shere was an independent soul. She was raised with her two siblings and many cousins all around her. In her younger years she was what many would say was a wild child. As she grew older, she was able to earn her GED from Maquoketa High School. Became a mother to 3 children. She went on to be hard working at everything she did. She worked many jobs over the years as a bartender, sewer, supervisor, entrepreneur, and scale house operator. She spent many years at Pacific Coast Feather in Maquoketa, IA. She took on many side home businesses, but her biggest adventure was when she opened and ran her own business for several years The Taz-Ma-Raz in Lost Nation, IA. It started as just a sun tanning salon and expanded into a flower shop, and then to a natural foods store. When her time came for a change in life, she took a job working for a rock quarry as a scale house operator. She spent nearly 20 years working for Bruening Rock Products. Sheree enjoyed this job more than any before because of the guys she got to know and work with and many friends she made. She had to be busy all the time, so she also had her own dog kennel Bluffton Puppies. Puppies were her second love in life.
Sheree was a very crafty lady who loved to make quilts, crochet afghan blankets and things. She would make little blankets for all her little puppies. Quilts she would never have the chance to finish. Over the years she enjoyed many things like ceramics, and flower arranging, gardening, and really loved to read. She could read several books in a day. She would read everything and was very knowledgeable on many things. Sometimes too many things. She loved time with her family and friends.
Sheree spent the last years of her life caring for others and helping those that she could. She took care of the man she loved Jim Bohr in has last years in life, as well as her ailing mother and father. Once her mother passed away in February of 2023 she was going to start living again. Then on May 1, 2023 she was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer that had metastases throughout the body. She spent this last year fighting. She had things she wanted to see finished. She was able to see her daughter married and meet her first great grandchildren Lucas Budde, and Madden Tenge in the last few months of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Larry and Connie Browne of Lost Nation, IA; her partner in life Jim Bohr of Bluffton, IA; her maternal and paternal grandparents, Earl and Fern Holtz and Roger and Florance Browne, both of Lost Nation, IA; her son Chuck Browne of Texas.
Sheree is survived by two of her children Alan Browne (wife Dina) of Cyperus, TX, Michele Zoulek (husband Dave) of Spillville, IA; grandchildren Allyssa Dolphin (husband Jace) of Ankeny, IA, Ashely Budde of Ames, IA, Lane Budde of Waterloo, IA, Aisa Browne, and Danielle Browne both of Cyperus, Texas; siblings Randy Browne (wife Cheryl), and Mark Browne (partner Chuck Cook). Sheree is also survived by Jim's children Joe Bohr, Dave Bohr (wife Jody) and their children Logan Bohr, Morgan Bohr, and Lexi Tenge (husband Keegan).
Sheree did not want anyone to make a fuss over her, so she chooses not to have a service. For those wanting to send cards and memorials please send them to Michele Zoulek and Sheree Segebart PO Box 123, Spillville, IA 52168. Memorials will be donated to Mayo Clinic Cancer Research and WinMed Hospice.
