Sheri Ann Komatz

Sheri Ann Komatz, age 68, entered into eternal life on August 6, 2025. A resident of Southeast Michigan throughout her life, she had spent the past four years living in Warren, Michigan. Sheri was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, and friend-cherished by all for her creative spirit, radiant warmth, and unwavering faith.

Born on September 16, 1956, in Detroit, Michigan, Sheri was the daughter of Mathew and Anna (née Georges) Komatz. She grew up in Utica and graduated from Utica High School in 1974. Sheri was a creative and talented artist, using those skills for a career in the automotive industry as a Technical Illustrator.

Sheri's vivacious presence was well known outside of work. She loved horses, participating in group activities, and spending time with all that were near and dear in her life, forming many cherished relationships. Whenever challenges came her way, she was known for her positive outlook as well as her bright smile. Her unwavering faith remained a guiding light throughout her life.

She is survived by her beloved son, Garret Komatz; her treasured sister, Tina (Steven) Dimitruck; and her adored nephews, Nathen and Mathew. Sheri is also survived by many extended family members and friends from her group activities. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mathew and Anna Komatz.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Sheri's name to mental health organizations would be greatly appreciated, honoring her enduring compassion and support for those in need.

May Sheri rest now in His loving arms, her life a testament to faith, hope, and the creative spirit that drew everyone to her.

Friends and family are invited to gather around her graveside on Saturday, September 27th starting at 10:00 AM, with Interment of Ashes service at 11:00 AM at Utica Cemetery 46325 Shelby Rd, Utica, MI 48317. Luncheon to follow.
