Sherlene Husfeld Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Klein Funeral Home - Tomball on Aug. 17, 2024.
Dolores Sherlene Husfeld of Tomball, Texas passed away on August 7, 2024, at the age of 92. She was born on May 1, 1932, in Iowa.
She is survived by her two children; Daughter, Vicki Husfeld; son, Curtis Husfeld and wife Dollie Husfeld; two grandchildren; granddaughter Sydney Polmanteer with husband Scott Polmanteer; granddaughter Jordan Husfeld. As well as her great grandson, Samuel Polmanteer.
Sherlene is preceded in death by her husband Rev. Monroe Husfeld, married for 51 fantastic years.
Sherlene Husfeld was a woman whose presence filled the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to know her. To her family, she was more than just a mother and grandmother-she was a source of endless love and support.
Known for her resilience, Sherlene was a tough lady who battled cancer for ten years. Despite the challenges, she faced each day with a smile and unwavering faith in God. She never allowed her illness to hold her back; instead, she made the most of her time by traveling, either with family or through her church. Sherlene often said she loved to explore all of God's creation, finding joy and wonder in the world around her.
To her family, she was more than just a mother and grandmother-she was a source of endless love and support. Sherlene had a special bond with her daughter Vicki, who lives at The Brookwood Community in Brookshire, Texas. She was a constant presence at every significant event in Vicki's life, never missing a chance to listen to her daughter play the handbells or share a meal at the café they both loved.
Her grandchildren, Sydney and Jordan, held a special place in her heart. When Sherlene retired from her job at Prairieview A&M, she dedicated herself to creating lasting memories with them. She was determined to pass down her knowledge, teaching them how to cook, sew, and crochet. These were not just skills, but gifts of love and tradition that she shared with them.
Sherlene treasured her time with her son, Curtis. Nearly every week, they spent time together, enjoying simple conversations and the quiet bond they shared. Some days were especially memorable, as they would head out to catch a musical, a passion they both enjoyed. These outings filled their hearts with joy and created lasting memories, making their time together a cherished tradition that deepened their connection.
Yet, if there was one love that stood out in Sherlene's life, it was for her beloved dogs, Romeo and Max. These sweet pooches were more than pets; they were cherished companions who brought immense joy and comfort to her days.
Sherlene's life was a testament to the strength of the human spirit, unwavering faith in God, the depth of a mother's love, and the joy found in the simple pleasures of life. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew her, especially her family, who will forever cherish the memories they created together.
