Surrounded by his loving family, Sherman Francis Arnold Jr, age 69, peacefully passed away on August 31st, 2023 at Kaiser Fontana Hospital after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
Sherman was born in Syracuse, New York on May 12, 1954. He was born to parents Vivian Rebecca Colette and Sherman Francis Arnold Sr. He had two siblings, Raymond Pierce and Ronald Pierce.
Sherman's life purpose and greatest joy was spending time with his family. He married the love of his life, Deborah, on December 13, 1986. They were blessed with five children; Scott Arnold, Shelley Arnold, Sam Dove, Tim Dove and Annette Arnold and nine grandchildren: Gavin, Taylor, Ava, Toni, Zender, Wesley, Russell, Hugh, Wyatt.
Sherman graduated from Fontana High School in 1972 and earned a BA degree from CSUSB in 1999.
Sherman was a hard worker and employed for over 40 years; 20 years as a clerk and manager at Safeway Market and 20 years for Fontana Unified School District as a maintenance worker and teacher.
He was a Jack-of-all trades. He enjoyed and was good at handyman work and fixing things. He was also very mechanical and loved working on cars.
Sherman never knew a stranger and loved making people laugh. His favorite meal was spaghetti and he was always up for ice cream.
Sherman lived a blessed life, loving and being loved by many. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
