Sherman Dale Channell

Sherman Dale Channell, age 59 years, a resident of Elkins, passed away Monday, April 22, 2024 at the WV Caring Hospice Inpatient Center in Elkins. He was born May 29, 1964 at Philippi, a son of the late William E. and Dorothy Montgomery Channell. He is survived by three sons, Matthew Channell of Elkins, Nathan Channell and girlfriend Hayley of Pittsburgh, PA and Nicholas Channell and wife Adriana of Elkins. One brother, Gary Channell and wife Norma of Parsons; two sisters, Brenda Coffman of Belington and Regina McGraw of Elkins; two grandchildren, Claire and Daniel Channell; ex-wife Rebecca Channell and special friend, Donna Evix. Also preceding him in death were one brother, Roger Channell and one sister, Linda Hedrick. Sherman was a graduate of Elkins High School with the Class of 1983 and had worked as a mail deliverer prior to becoming disabled. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood working and working around his home. He was a Protestant by faith.
Friends may call from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Thursday, April 25, 2024 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, April 26th from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Randy Montgomery officiating. Internment will follow at Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman.
