Mr. Jeral Chidester, age 72 years, a resident of Coalton, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2025. He was born September 18, 1952, a son of the late Sanford and Viola Mae Collins Chidester. On July 24, 1992 at Oakland, MD, he was marred to the former Elizabeth Ann Phillips who survives at Coalton. Also surviving are two sons, Jerry Chidester of Florida and Jeral "Taz" Chidester, II of Coalton. One daughter, Arika Marie Chidester of Coalton; one brother, Basil Chidester of Canaan Valley, WV and one sister, Hazel Bennett of Indiana also survive. Also preceding him in death were three brothers, Theodore, Gene and Hartsell Chidester and three sisters, Shirley Mae Chidester, Mildred Scott and Gladys Loudin. Jeral was employed as a tree trimmer and retired as a foreman for Penn Line Tree Services. He was a Christian by Faith. Prior to suffering a stroke in 2020, Jeral was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and hiking the woods for ginseng. He was funny, known for his kindness and generosity toward others and able to find happiness in simple things. He loved his family and his dog Beavis who crossed the rainbow bridge a year ago. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Services for Mr. Chidester were private. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Jeral Chidester.
