Sherman Shartzer

Sherman Lee Shartzer 78 passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at his home. He was born January 11, 1947, the son of Charles Everett Shartzer and Alma Katherine Burnett. Sherman served in the United States Army and was devoted member of Perseverance Chapel Church. He worked for Greyhound and then later transferred to Tarc where he retired in 2005.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and his loving wife of 56 years, Mildred Thomason Shartzer.

He is survived by his sons, Stephen (Rebecca) Shartzer and James (Jennifer) Shartzer, five grandchildren; Greyson, Grant (Emma), Delaney, Parker, & Ben. He also leaves behind his brother, Jerry Shartzer (Janet Lynn), and sisters, Beverly Ann Edwards (David), Rebecca Sue Cann (Sidney), and Nancy Jo Escue.

Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 8, 2025, at Gehlbach and Royse Funeral Home (318 East Chestnut Street, Corydon, Indiana 47112).

Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday, December 7, 2025, and again Monday morning from 9:00 AM until the service time of 11:00 AM, all at the funeral home.

Burial will take place in Perseverance Chapel Church Cemetery.
