Sheron Kaye Bortell

Sheron Kaye Bortell, 75, of Forest City, went to be with her lord and savior on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 1:45 a.m. She was born January 3, 1949, in Peoria, Illinois, to Junior and Betty (Gilmore) Servis. She married Eldon Bortell on August 20, 1966.
Mrs. Bortell is survived by her husband, Eldon, of Forest City; son, Bob Bortell of Forest City; two grandsons: Brandon (Ashley) Bortell of Havana and Jeremy Shingleton, of Decatur; two granddaughters: Lexus (Ty) Rickett, of Georgia, and Katie Bortell of Decatur; daughter in law, Lauri Bortell of Havana; three brothers: Don (Monell) Servis, of Springfield, Illinois, Dennis (Carol Sexton) and Glen Servis, both of Havana; four sisters: Clara (Ivan) Robison, of Kilbourne, Cheryl Hall of Lewistown, Brenda Sweet, of Pawnee, and Julie Ogden of Colfax; as well as four great-grandchildren: Kyleigh, Brayden, Hannah, and Rylan, all of Havana; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband's parents; son, Keith; two grandsons: Christopher and Andrew; and one brother, Eugene.
She worked for Forman Fire and Ambulance for twenty-four years. She is a member of Forest City Community Church. Sheron loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She liked to read in her spare time. She and Eldon enjoyed camping in their motorhome all around the country. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother for five years, member of the Activity Group, and had served as Forest City Village Clerk.
Visitation will be held at Forest City Community Church, on Friday, November 15, 2024 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Forest City Community Church, at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, November 16, 2024. Rev. Guy Williams will officiate. An honor guard walkthrough, led by Forman Fire Department and Forman Ambulance, will begin at 6:45 p.m.
