Steven E. Boyer

Steven Eugene Boyer, aged 65, of Hillsboro, TN, formerly of Petersburg, IL, and Bradenton, FL, passed away Wednesday October 1, 2025.
Steven is survived by his son, Aaron (Victoria) Boyer, and two grandchildren, Ashton E. and Lilith L. Boyer, of Oceanside, CA; his stepchildren, Doug Fisher and Katie Rivera of Florida; a parent, Thomas E. Boyer of Petersburg; his sister, Evelyn K. (Kenneth) Blackard of Petersburg; a brother, Christopher W. Boyer of Springfield; his nieces, Addison C. Boyer of Springfield, Becky D. (Terry) Miller of Athens and Sabrina L. Boyer of Petersburg; his nephews, Tommy H. Boyer, Jacob Boyer and Cody Boyer of Petersburg; four great nieces; five great nephew; five great-great nephews; and two great-great nieces.
Steven was preceded in death by his daughter, Steva Nicole Boyer; his wife, Vickie L. Boyer; his mother, Jo Evelyn Boyer; a brother, Tommy W. Boyer; a nephew, Jason M. Blackard; two nieces, Katrina and Tammy Boyer; and his grandparents, Hannon and Lula Green, and Mary E. Boske.
Steven attended PORTA High School. He served in the Navy as a Gunners Mate for two years.
Living in Florida most of his adult years, he worked as a heating and cooling repair man. He also owned his own siding business. He had further skills in carpentry, painting and mechanics. He loved the ocean, fishing, cooking, sailing and motorcycle riding.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg, IL. Following the service, the family will host a memorial dinner at the Athens Community Center at the Athens Community Park, 210 Dottie Bednarko Dr, Athens, IL 62613. Food donations will be received at the Athens Community Center that morning between 8:00 am and 12:00 pm.
