**Sherran H. Williams**
*September 20, 1948 – December 5, 2025*
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sherran H. Williams, a beloved mother, sister, friend, and dedicated educator. Sherran passed away on December 5, 2025, in Virginia Beach, VA, at the age of 77 due to her long battle with dementia.
Born on September 20, 1948, in Norfolk, VA, Sherran was the cherished daughter of the late George Hogge and Evelyn Ferguson Hogge. Her early life was marked by a deep love for learning and music, passions she would carry throughout her life.
Sherran was a proud alumna of Maury High School. She continued her academic pursuits at Redford College and Old Dominion University, where she achieved a Master's degree. Her commitment to education shone brightly during her 15 years of teaching elementary school in Portsmouth, VA, where she touched the lives of countless young students with her warmth and wisdom.
Outside of her professional career, Sherran was known for her love of music. A gifted singer, she found joy and solace in song. As a devoted member of the Episcopal Church, Sherran's faith was a guiding force in her life.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, survived by her sons, Thurman III, Matthew, and Scott. Her memory is also cherished by her brother, George Hogge, and his wife, Brenda, along with many close friends who will dearly miss her kind spirit and gracious heart.
Sherran is preceded in death by her parents, George and Evelyn Hogge, who undoubtedly welcome her into eternity with open arms.
Also, the family of Sherran wishes to thank the entire staff at Our Lady Of Perpetual Care and Westminster Hospice for their excellent care and service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Sherran's memory to a
charity of one's choice or to a local educational foundation to continue her legacy of nurturing young minds.
Her warmth, dedication, and joyful spirit will remain with all who knew and loved her. She will be forever remembered and deeply missed.
