Sherrie Dee Haley, 62, of
Rowlett, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 28, 2025, after courageously battling cancer for 11 years with grace, faith, and a strength that inspired everyone around her.
Sherrie was born on August 16, 1963, in Odessa, Texas, to H.V. (Vaughn) Hogue and the late Neta Lorene (Britt) Hogue. She married the love of her life, Robert "Rob" Haley, on July 30, 1983, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Tyler, Texas. Together they built a beautiful life centered on faith, family, and service to others.
Throughout her life, Sherrie devoted her time and talents to many fields, including the medical, dental, education (GISD), and energy industries (CrossTex/EnLink Midstream). Yet her most important and cherished role was as a homemaker and stay-at-home mom. No matter where she was-whether in the workplace or at home-Sherrie was known for her unwavering commitment, compassion, and care. Her coworkers, friends, and family alike admired her genuine heart and her gift for making everyone feel seen, valued, and loved.
Her greatest calling in life was her family. Sherrie was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and an adoring "Lollie" to her grandsons. She poured her heart into raising her children and loving her grandbabies, filling their lives with encouragement, creativity, and unconditional love.
Sherrie loved nothing more than celebrating her children's passions and accomplishments. She proudly supported her daughter Erica through her marathons and races-standing along the race routes with handmade signs, cheering her on, and beaming with pride as she crossed the finish line. She deeply admired Erica's determination and strength and never missed a chance to tell others how proud she was of her.
That same pride shone just as brightly for her son Cameron. Supporting his dream of opening Smoak Town BBQ brought her immense joy-a story she loved to share with anyone who would listen. From creating signature side recipes and her famous banana pudding to hand-painting the "Lollie" smoker herself, Sherrie's warmth and creativity became part of the very soul of the business.
No matter what she was doing, Sherrie was her children's and grandchildren's biggest cheerleader. Her love, pride, and presence will continue to be felt in every milestone they reach and in every family gathering that carries her spirit forward.
Sherrie's radiant personality and grace were evident even from a young age. She was crowned Miss Hobbs High (1981), voted Most Beautiful, and served as a spirited high school cheerleader-embodying the kindness, confidence, and heart that defined her throughout her life.
A faithful member of Lakepointe Church, Sherrie's faith guided her through every season of life. She had a gentle, creative spirit and a gift for finding beauty in the simplest moments. Whether she was painting, making candles or jewelry, restoring furniture, or crafting something new, her hands were always busy creating something meaningful. She brought warmth and joy into every space she entered and every life she touched. Sherrie also loved spending time participating in Bible studies, and encouraging others through her kind, giving spirit.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Rob Haley of
Rowlett, TX; daughter Erica Haley of Fort Worth, TX; son and daughter-in-law Cameron and Kourtney Haley of Fate, TX; and her three beloved grandsons-Porter, Creede, and Oaklen Haley-who were her greatest joy.
She is also survived by her father H.V. Hogue of Tyler, TX; sister Denise Dubose (Gary) of Jacksonville, TX; sisters-in-law Diana Chavers (Glen) of Bon Aqua, TN and Julie Beasley (Kevin) of Whitehouse, TX; mothers-in-law Betty Ann Russell and Melva Haley; nieces and nephews Andrea Thornton (Chad), Megan Dubose, Annie Rae Chavers, Branden, Blake, and Macie Beasley; great-nieces and nephews Alexis Burrage (Grant), Landon Massey, Kace Dubose, Beckett Thornton; and great-great-nephew Micah Burrage-as well as a large extended family who adored her.
Sherrie was also blessed with a close circle of lifelong friends who were more like family. Her laughter, faith, and unconditional love created deep bonds that will be cherished forever.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son Jarrod Haley; her mother Neta Hogue; and her fathers-in-law Harold Russell and Frank Haley.
Sherrie will be remembered for her radiant smile, her unwavering faith, and the way she made everyone feel loved and at home. Her legacy is one of kindness, joy, and a life beautifully lived in service to others.
To honor Sherrie's bright and joyful spirit, a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Crossroads Church in
Rowlett, TX. The family invites guests to wear colorful attire in her memory. Sherrie loved color and believed life was meant to be lived vibrantly-the same way she lived hers.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites friends and loved ones to contribute to a college fund for Sherrie's three beloved grandsons, a cause that was especially close to her heart. Donations can be made through the "Lollie's Legacy" GoFundMe established in her honor.
