Sherrie Miller Isgrigg was a loving mother, grandmother, wife, friend, and ray of sunshine for all who knew her. She left this world on June 21st, 2024 but will live in hearts and cherished memories forever.
She was born to Pat and Brad Johnson of Louisville, KY on December 10th, 1943. After graduating high school she studied speech/theater at Gulf Park College for Women. Sherrie's talent and personality shined in her singing and dancing throughout her life. She was dynamic in prominent professional roles including (first ever) Women's Director at WSB Radio in Atlanta, Public Relations Director for the city of Louisville, co-owner of WIMO radio station, Main Street/Downtown Development Director for the cities of Winder and Auburn, GA, and as a freelance broadcaster.
But her greatest love and proudest accomplishment was motherhood for three surviving daughters Melissa Basta, Meggan Wadsworth, and Meredith Miller. She is also survived by doting husband William Isgrigg II; granddaughters Bella Basta, Sophia Basta, Emma Wadsworth, and Elizabeth Anne Wadsworth; treasured sons-in-law Chris Basta and Trey Broussard; and Bill's children, Jan and William Isgrigg III and Adrienne Isgrigg.
Sherrie greeted every morning with enthusiasm, optimism, and a sense of adventure. She nurtured all creatures, and her pet dogs and parrots gave her endless joy. She never met a stranger! Sherrie's smile, generosity, and wisdom will be deeply missed by family and countless friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 12:00 PM in the Chapel of Carter Funeral Home. The family will be receiving friends on Saturday from 10:30 AM until the service hour at the funeral home. Following the service, a celebration of life reception will take place at 1:30 PM at the J.D. Withers Building in Auburn.
A private family interment was held at Auburn City Cemetery.
