Sherrie Sue (Russell) Shelley, the daughter of Clarence Russell and Betty (Mapes) Russell passed away on August 4, 2025 at Medicalodges in Frontenac, KS. She was surrounded by her sons David Paul Shelley, Tyson Lee Shelley and Russell Cale Shelley, along with her daughter in-law and wife of Tyson, Dawnelle Shelley and Sherrie's sisters Joye Van Gorden and Deanna Russell Hald. Sherrie was born at Girard Hospital in Girard, KS on May 31, 1949. Sherrie was married to David Lee Shelley of Cabool, MO. on June 17, 1967. She is survived by her three sons, David Paul Shelley, his wife Sara Shelley, their four children Noah Shelley, Caleb Shelley his wife Kelsey and Sherrie's great granddaughter Claire, Isaac Shelley and Leah (Shelley) Stine and her husband Ashton Stine all of Springfield, MO. Son Tyson Lee Shelley his wife Dawnelle Shelley of Pittsburg, KS. and their four sons, Brandon Shelley and Triston Shelley of Lenexa, KS, Isaac Jurkovic and Tyberius Shelley of Pittsburg, KS. Son Russell Cale Shelley of Pittsburg, KS. Sherrie's siblings, William Ray Russell (wife Debbie) of Pittsburg, KS, Deanna Mae Russell Hald of Pittsburg, KS., Clarence Dale Russell of Girard, KS., Randy Dean Russell of Girard, KS., Gayle Gene Russell (wife JoEllen) of Pittsburg, KS., and Joye Lou (Russell) Van Gorden of Frontenac, KS. Along with numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Sherrie is preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters Donna Russell, Delena (Willis) Archer and Lucy (Willis) Threlfall and brother Harry Willis. Her sister in-law Paula Russell, brother in-laws Gary Hald, John Van Gorden and Don Hartman Sr.

Sherrie attended elementary school in Girard, KS., and graduated from Girard High School in 1967. Sherrie had a variety of different jobs ranging from custodial jobs to house cleaning and laundry. Sherrie loved to travel with her husband and children and spending time with her grandchildren. She always spoke very highly of her children and grandchildren. Sherrie's hobbies included shopping, going out to eat, gardening and had a love of a variety of movies, especially Sci-Fi and scary ones.

Visitation services will be held at Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard, KS., on Saturday, August 9, 2025 from10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friends may call between 2:00 and 7:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.

Donations can be given to Sherrie's children to be used towards expenses or Gentiva Hospice of Pittsburg, KS and these may be left at the visitation or mailed to the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home, 518 W St. John, Box 258, Girard, 66743.
