Sherrill Jean Canter, resident of Gainesville, Florida, passed away on July 29, 2023 gaining her eternal home in heaven. She was a member of North Central Baptist Church. She was a loving, kind, generous woman who was much loved.
Sherrill was a bookkeeper for RV Salvage. She loved spending time with family and friends.
Sherrill was born to Henry Lloyd McLamb and Mary Dyson McLamb-McCallum on July 22, 1948 in Wilmington, North Carolina. She was raised by an amazing loving mother, Mary McCallum.
Sherrill was preceded in death by the love of her life, Robert 'Bobby' P. Canter. Sherrill and Bobby were married on March 19, 1984 and together blended to make the Canter family. She was also preceded in death by her loving sister, Carol Avery; daughter, Cyndi Freeman; and great-grandchild, Lucas.
She is survived by her loving mother, Mary McCallum; brother, Henry McLamb and his wife Debra; sons, Daniel and his wife Lydia Martin and Michael Gotcher; daughter, Barbara Davis; grandchildren, Beth and her husband Miles, Chase, Jennifer and her husband Darrell; and great-grandchild Allee. She was loved by her nephews and nieces, cousins and friends. Sherrill was truly blessed by her family and friends and each of them loved her with all their heart.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Evans Carter Funeral Home in High Springs, Florida. Family and friends will assemble after the service at North Central Baptist Church, 8001 NW 23rd Ave, Gainesville, Florida.
