Sherry A. (Russell) Ballengee, 76, of Washington, IN, passed away on October 5, 2024 at her residence.
She was born on May 4, 1948, to the late Wilson J. & C. Mabel Russell in Washington, IN.
Sherry was a 1966 graduate of Washington High School. Following high school on April 18, 1970, she married the love of her life, Paul D. Ballengee, and he preceded her in death on September 15, 2020.
In her spare time, Sherry loved to care for animals. She would feed any animal that she crossed paths with. She cherished her son Erik, and the times they shared together, and she especially cherished her granddaughter, Emma. Emma was simply her pride and joy.
Surviving Sherry is her son, Erik (Amanda) Ballengee of Union Furnace, OH, her granddaughter, Emma Ballengee, and her sister, Donna (Fred) Fancher of Louisville, KY.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, her parents, Wilson and Mabel, and her half siblings, Janet Drew, Delores Colbert, and Don Russell.
Visitation for Sherry will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024, from 12:00-1:00pm at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home 2020 State St., Washington, IN 47501. A funeral service will follow immediately at 1:00pm. A private family burial will take place following the service at Sugarland Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made to: Friends for Animals P.O. Box 402 Washington, IN; or to the City of Washington Animal Control and Adoption Facility in Washington.
