Apostle Sherry Lynn Payton-Borders was born on July 11, 1966, in Dallas, TX to the late Gloria Jean Young and Leslie E Payton Sr. Apostle Sherry Payton Borders received her formal education in the Dallas Independent School District and a proud graduate of the Class of 1984 of The Great James Madison High School. It was there that she met the love of her life, husband Louis “Big Wolf” Borders whom she married on April 4, 1994. To this union three children were born. After graduation she held several different jobs but pursued going into the medical field as a CNA. She was an employee at Parkland Hospital for sixteen years where she could be found giving the highest level of service to the patients she served.

Apostle Sherry Payton Borders grew up at Parkside COGIC., under the leadership of Mother Bettye Jackson and the late Pastor Leroy Jackson. There she was faithfully the Usher Board President and member of the Leroy Jackson Gospel Choir. Churches were so impressed in the way Apostle Sherry Payton Borders had the ushers together, often other churches requested their assistance with funeral services. As she progressed in her spiritual guidance, she later became a member of New Beginnings Word Ministries under the leadership of Lady Rundia Miller and Pastor Ronald G. Miller.

Apostle Sherry Payton Borders had a heart for Gods people which led her to opening her home as a place of refuge. God had given Apostle Sherry Payton Borders the vision to open her home to start her ministry of Set The Captives Free Healing and Deliverance Ministries the year of 2017. Apostle Sherry Payton Borders often provided shelter, food, spiritual guidance, transportation and assisting with finding gainful employment. She had a zeal for the young adults who often gravitated to her where she taught them how to be true men & women of God. Apostle Sherry Payton Borders motto was “No Soul Left Behind”. Through her ministry, she facilitated over 300 people on Tent Row in South Dallas a hot home-cooked meal for Thanksgiving. Apostle Sherry Payton Borders ministry reach so many souls with her consistency, ambition and allowing the Holy Spirit to order her steps. Set The Captives Free Healing and Deliverance Ministries did so much throughout the community on numerous occasions. She loved to laugh and was well known for making some of the best chess pies around.

In the year of 2022 God had led Apostle Sherry Payton Borders to close her ministry to go and sit under Bishop Michael & Prophetess Annette Dukes. In obedience the women of God united with LCMOD July 17, 2022, where she was a faithful member, intercessor, mentor to young adults and much more.
