Sherry Crooks
69, of Richmond, Indiana, formerly of Preble County, left Tuesday, April 30, 2024, and is now dancing with Jesus in her Heavenly Home.
She was born February 4, 1955, in Hamilton, to the late Paul M. and Doris E. (Gilbert) Taylor.
Sherry is survived by her former spouse who she dearly loved, Bud Crooks and Hank the Dog; son, John "Scott" (Tonya) Allen; daughter, Rachel (Kelly) Hocker; grandchildren, John-Paul Allen, Zaccheaus (Madison) Allen, Emily (Christopher) Clarke, Mathias Allen, Seth Allen, Lillian Allen, Alex Wilson, Michael Allen, Michelle Allen, Austin Marion, Nicholas Marion, and Ryan Marion; great grandchildren, Matthew Marion, Kinlee Marion, Everett Allen, and Huntley Clarke; brothers, Paul "Gene" (Linda) Taylor and Robert "Bob" (Sheila) Taylor; and many more family and friends.
She found joy in life's simple pleasures, her eyes sparkling with excitement as she daubed her bingo card or played a game of Hand and Foot or Euchre with hopeful anticipation. Each game was not just a chance to win but a moment to connect with friends, sharing laughter and stories that became the threads of enduring friendship.
Sherry's devotion to her friends was matched only by her unwavering faith. Her love for the Lord was the guiding light that illuminated her path, providing strength through life's trials and triumphs. In her quiet moments of prayer, she found comfort and inspiration, radiating a gentle spirit that touched all who crossed her path.
Yet, perhaps Sherry's greatest joy was found in the company of her beloved grandchildren. Their laughter was music to her ears, their hugs a comfort to her soul. Whether it was watching old TV shows, playing games, or simply sharing stories, every moment spent with her grandchildren was a treasure she held close to her heart.
A visitation will be held Monday, May 6 from 3PM to 5PM at PREBLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL CENTER, 3377 US Route 35 East, West Alexandria 45381. The funeral service will begin at 5PM with Pastors John and Marvin Hocker. Sherry will be laid to rest in Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery.
