Sherry Ann Cychner, 73, of Fort Mitchell, passed away Friday, October 17, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Edgewood. She was born May 2, 1952, in Hamilton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Robert Childers and Barbara Branch Childers.
Sherry worked as a Management Program Assistant with the I.R.S. and will be remembered for her warm heart, fun-loving spirit, and the joy she brought to everyone around her. She loved her annual beach trips, sipping on Diet Cokes, listening to country music, and spending time watching Instagram reels. She especially loved cheering on her two grandsons at their baseball and football games and taking her granddaughter to the beach to soak up the sun together.
Sherry had a special way of making everyone feel loved and welcomed. She greeted all with open arms and proudly told everyone to call her Nana—a name that perfectly reflected the kindness, warmth, and care she showed to all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Heather Petry; her sister, Angela Kawalek (David); brother, Terry Childers (Donna); and three grandchildren, Tyler Durham, Taylor Rotte, and Torin O’Shea.
There will be a visitation from 4–7 PM on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Floral Hills Funeral Home, Chapel A.
