William Hugo "Bill" Wachs

William "Bill" Hugo Wachs, 75, of Fort Thomas, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026.

Born on December 23, 1950, in Covington, Bill was the beloved son of the late Hugo and Delores Wachs. A lifelong resident of Northern Kentucky, he carried with him a deep appreciation for the outdoors and the simple joys of learning.

Bill had a passion for hunting and spent many treasured hours in the field until declining eyesight required him to set aside his rifle. Even then, his curiosity and love of discovery never faded. He enjoyed reading about fossils and dinosaurs, delving into history, and studying coins, stamps, and military weapons. His wide-ranging interests reflected a thoughtful and inquisitive spirit that remained with him throughout his life.

He is survived by his siblings, Deborah (Ed) Augustin and Jim (Erica) Wachs; and by his cherished nieces and nephews: Melanie Augustin, Mike (Kelly) Augustin, Emily Augustin, Tina (Jon) Schwarz, Scott Wachs, and Crystal Wachs. Bill will be remembered for his quiet strength, his enduring curiosity, and the love he shared with his family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Outdoor Dream Foundation at www.outdoordream.org.
