Sherry Lynn Ward Eddington
1948 ~ 2026
Sherry Lynn Ward- Eddington went home to be with our Lord on February 17, 2026.
She attended Third and Sixth Ward Schools in Washington, Pennsylvania and graduated from Washington High School in the same City and State in June 1966. Sherry, she furthered her education and earned an AA degree at Ridgecrest community college. Sherry attended Nazareth Baptist church since the young age of 7. Sherry was the sixth child born to the union of Bernice Grinage- Ward and Richard Henry Ward, Jr. Her mother and father preceded her in death.
Sherry moved to California City, California in 1991 where she met and married Russell Eddington in 1993. They had a beautiful relationship and Russell very much loved and adored Sherry until he departed this earth on October 7, 2021.
She worked at Edwards Air Force base and retired as a management analysist. Prior to her passing, several siblings departed before her-- twins Maurice Ward and Marlene Ward-Holmes, Richard Ward, III, Donna Brinson, Linda Hudson-Smith and two brothers-in-law, R.J. Brinson and Jesse Holmes. One sister, Candace Chandler remains. Also surviving are two Aunts--Irene Edwins and Thelma Ward. Sherry's children and grandchildren were the love of her life and her world. They felt the same about her and will miss her tremendously. She leaves to cherish her memory her three children Jack Campbell and wife Jennie, Melville Campbell and wife Etana, and Alicia and husband Marcus Pettaway. She has grandchildren and great grandchildren who will keep her in their hearts always.
Sherry Lynn was very proud of her family and dearly loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and their love for her was just as deep. Sherry was a devout Christian. Her day began with her reading her devotion and Bible verses. She enjoyed attending church and faithfully attended California City community Church in California City, California.
Sherry has several nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends who will fondly remember her beautiful, kind, caring personality and smile.
