Sherry Anderson Ferrell

Sherry Anderson Ferrell of Burlington, N.C. passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026. She was 79 years old.

A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of Lucille Anderson Smith (deceased).

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Thomas "Tom" Ferrell; sister, Gaynelle Abernathy and husband Wayne Abernathy; nephew, Paul Clayton and wife Katie; great nephew, Blake Clayton; nephew, Patrick Ferrell; niece, Lyndsay Constable and husband Brad; and great nephew, Ryland Constable.

Sherry graduated from Eastern Alamance High School class of '65. She attended NC Wesleyan College in Rocky Mount, N.C. and completed her education at St. Mary's College in Omaha, Nebraska.

She retired from a career in banking, information technology and management consulting.

She was a nature lover, avid gardener, and bird watcher.

A special thanks to her caregivers for their wonderful care and support and to AuthoraCare Hospice of Burlington for the special things they provided and assistance they gave to Sherry and family.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026 from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home in Burlington. A reception will be held following the visitation at the home of Wayne and Gaynelle Abernathy, 124 Georgetowne Drive, Elon, NC 27244.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Sherry may be made to AuthoraCare Hospice of Burlington, 914 Chapel Hill Rd. Burlington, NC 27215.
