Sherry Haar Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Williams Funeral Directors - Garland on Jan. 28, 2026.
Sherry Lynn Haar, a woman of profound faith and boundless devotion to her family, passed away peacefully in Rowlett, Texas, on January 25, 2026, just two days after celebrating her 75th birthday.

Born in Dallas, Texas, on January 23, 1951, to Elmer Lee Engelhardt and Betty Ruth Campbell, Sherry lived a life rooted in the service of others. For many years, she worked as a talented hairstylist, a profession that allowed her to use her creativity to make others feel beautiful. Beyond her professional life, she was a master in the kitchen; her family will forever cherish the memory of her excellent cooking and her amazing baking.

Sherry's life was defined by her unwavering relationship with Jesus. She began every morning in gratitude, dedicating time daily to her Bible and to prayer. Her faith wasn't just a practice but a way of life-she was a truly giving soul who never hesitated to help anyone in need.

She was the beloved wife of Bobby Haar until his passing in 1995. While Sherry endured the heartache of losing her husband, her parents, her sister Mary Lou Allison, and her son Craig Haar, she remained a pillar of strength for those who remained.

Her legacy of love continues through her children: Jennifer Lee Bohmer and husband Daniel; Dwayne Haar and wife Kimberly; and Jason Haar and wife Angela. Known affectionately as Mimi, she doted on her grandchildren: Laura (Joel) Malone, Jonathan (Grace) Haar, Hunter Haar, Corbin Haar, Zachery (Alexia) Slack, Jackson Bohmer, and Zoe Bohmer. Her joy was further multiplied by her great-grandchildren: Mickey and Joanie Malone, and Ava Slack. She is also survived by her siblings Ginger (Richard) Rockers, Jim (Debra) Coleman, and Leoren Hudson.

Mimi's smile was a light in every room, and while her family deeply feels her absence, they take comfort in knowing she is at peace with her Savior. May the Lord bring peace and comfort to all she touched.

"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." - John 14:1-3
