Mrs. Sherry Hogge Hudson, age 80, of Sutherlin, VA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 8, 2025.
Sherry was born on May 2, 1945 in Williamsburg, VA to the late George and Hattie Hogge of Yorktown, VA. She lovingly called Yorktown-particularly the Dandy area-her home for 62 years before retiring to Sutherlin, VA, with her husband Cladwell Vincent "Vince" Hudson, to be closer to their daughter, Kendra Moser (Shane), who survives her.
Sherry proudly served as a school bus driver for York County Schools for 33 years before her retirement. She was a devoted member of Lighthouse Bible Church in Danville, VA.
In addition to her husband of nearly 61 years, Vince, and a daughter Kendra, Sherry is survived by many beloved family members. She was predeceased by an infant son; her daughter, Anissa Ann Hudson; her brother, George T. Hogge III (survived by his wife, Celeste); and her sister, Nancy H. Barrick (survived by her husband, David).
A memorial service for Sherry will be held at Hope of Glory Christian Church 3407 Goodwin Neck Road, Yorktown, VA, on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 1:00 PM, with Pastors Lee Rigsby and James L. Riggins officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. A graveside service and interment will follow at Peninsula Memorial Park Cemetery, Newport News, VA. Amory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A celebration of Life service will also be held at Lighthouse Bible Church, 133 Woodberry Drive, Danville, VA, on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 12:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Baby Wyatt Hodges (c/o Maggie Ashworth and Ben Hodges) 681 Campview Road, Danville, VA 24540 or to Danville-Pittsylvania Cancer Association, 233 Riverview Drive, Suite J, Danville, VA 24541 or God's Pit Crew, 223 N.
