Sherry Diana Hydrick was born on November 5, 1959, to Robert Carl “R.C.” and Vaul Rogers Byrd in Gatesville, Texas. She grew up and attended school in Gatesville, graduating from Gatesville High School in 1978. Diana worked at Wayne’s Chicken in Gatesville after school each day and continued working there even after graduation. She then worked as a hostess for the Bavarian Inn, currently known as the Coryell County Museum and Historical Center. While there, she painted the stained-glass artwork located in the ceilings on the second floor, which can still be seen today. She later worked as a teller for the First National Bank, and then as an office administrator for CSS Construction, before going to work for TTG Electric, where she oversaw every aspect of the company. She was also the owner of HCM&J Construction.

Diana had a passion for crocheting. She crocheted many special pieces for her family, which was her way of showing her love for them. She also enjoyed hunting, watching her grandchildren play sports, spending time away with her girlfriends, and playing the slot machines.

Diana was preceded in death by her mother, Valeria Vaul Byrd. She is survived by her loving husband of 28 1/2 years, Mike Hydrick; father, R.C. Byrd; children, Justin Branham, Sarah Hukel and husband, Nick, Tasha LeBlanc and husband, Dustin, and Sean Hydrick and wife, Wendi; sister, Debbie Isaacks and husband, Paul; brothers, Carl Byrd and wife, Penny, and Johnny Byrd and wife, Michelle; grandchildren, Spencer, Ashton, Colt, Tyler, Drake, Thorne, and Aspen.

In lieu of flowers Diana’s family has requested that memorials be made to The Big Sting, 3417 Imperial Dr., Gatesville, TX 76528.
