Sherry Jeffries, age 63, passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
She was born on June 26, 1961 in Frankfort, Germany to the late Roger Harold Dodson, Sr. and Martzy Dell Neely Dodson. Sherry was an active member at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Dyersburg where she served on the youth staff for over thirty years. She taught Sunday school and was a leader of the Women's Community Bible Study. Sherry was fluent in sign language and taught sign language at church. She loved to paint, coordinate weddings, specifically arranging flowers, and shopping with her sister Judy at Hobby Lobby.
In addition to her father, Sherry was preceded in death by her sister, Roxanne Clayton.
She is survived by her husband of thirty-eight years, John L. Jeffries of Dyersburg; daughter, Kimberly Chisolm and her husband Matthew of Paris; brother, Roger Dodson, Jr. and his wife Danielle of Mobile, Alabama; sister, Judy Cole of Jackson; several nieces and nephews; and her four legged companion, Penni.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Dyersburg. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until the service hour at the church. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Sherry A. Jeffries, please visit our Tree Store.
