JONESBORO - Sherry Johnson Masner, 80 years of age, passed on Jan. 4, 2026, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital.
Sherry was born on Aug. 4, 1945, in Leachville, to the late Virgil Sydney and Ruth Marshall Johnson. She was a 1963 graduate of Leachville High School and attended Arkansas State College.
Sherry was a natural entrepreneur. She owned and operated Sherry's Hang Ups, a frame shop, managed the weekly newspaper, NEA Town Crier, and later owned a Decorating Den franchise, decorating homes and traveling to clients throughout the area.
She was deeply creative and enjoyed making things with her hands, including smocked dresses, baby blankets, and scrapbooks that will be cherished by her family. Throughout her life, Sherry chose joy and lived fully, meeting life with strength and grace.
Sherry is survived by her husband, Joe Masner; her children, Jill (Nathan) Sanders and Marshall (Carmen) Wildy; and her grandchildren, Jacob (Kaley) Sanders, Evan (Madison) Sanders, Sydney (Scott) Scroggins, and Kathryn Wildy. She was blessed with three great-grandchildren, Maggie, Declan, and Jackson. She is also survived by her sister Sandra (Ronnie) Kennett; her brother, John A. (Myrna) Johnson; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. She adored her family and treasured time spent with them.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, Jan. 7, at 1 p.m. at the Emerson Memorial Chapel. The service followed at 2 p.m., with burial at McDaniel Cemetery.
