Sheryl Doherty (Stuart), loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on September 24, 2025, at the age of 76. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Bill Doherty Jr.; her daughters Alycia Riddell and significant other Mark and Jana Thomas and her husband Matt; grandchildren Julia Walsh and her husband Sean, Drew Riddell, Justin Riddell, Tristan Riddell, and Shyanne Thomas; great-grandson Luke. Daughter of William Stuart and the late Lorraine Stuart; brothers William Stuart Jr. and his wife Jana, Mark Stuart and many nieces and nephews.
Sheryl began her career as an X-ray technician at New England Memorial Hospital. Upon the birth of her daughters, she stayed at home to raise her children. The end of her working career was spent educating and inspiring special education for pre-school aged children.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald-Finnegan-Anderson Funeral Home, 322 Main Street, Stoneham on Thursday, October 2 from 4-7pm with a prayer service beginning at 7pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the easterseals.
