Sheryl Ann Larkin

Sheryl Larkin, 70, passed away peacefully at Mayo Healthcare on October 27, 2025, with her daughter, Vicki, by her side.
Born on January 15, 1955, Sheryl was the beloved daughter of George and Audrey (Daniels) Lafirira. She grew up with her three siblings, Ronald, Dale, and Julie, on their family farm in East Montpelier.
Sheryl was known for her kind heart, joyful spirit, and love of people. She had a big social circle and could light up any room she entered. She especially loved square dancing, going for a ride on The Harley, spending time with horses, and working at Morse Farm, where she shared her warmth and laughter with everyone she met.
Above all, Sheryl was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She raised three children, Michalle (husband, Pete Merchant), Vicki (husband, John Slocum), and Travis (wife Desiree Larkin), who were the pride and joy of her life. Her love only grew with each generation. She cherished her grandchildren: Taylor Miller, Morgan Buckles (and husband Chris), Emily Staab (and husband Sam), Johnny Slocum (and partner Amanda Gerrish), Travis, Savanna, Luke, and Adley; and her great-grandchildren, Skyler and Owen.
Sheryl's family and friends will remember her for her kindness and sense of humor. Her legacy lives on through the love she gave so freely and the memories she created with those who knew her best.
A celebration of Sheryl's life will be held at Mayo Healthcare on Monday, November 3, 2025, from 4 pm to 6 pm, 610 Water Street, Northfield, VT 05663. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Sheryl by donating funds to Mayo Healthcare for their new dementia program, The Sugar House.
