Shirley Adams Obituary
Mrs. Adams was born on November 17, 1936 in Johnston County to the late James Monroe Lee and Ruby Lee Dunn. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Anthony Brooks Adams; sisters, Geraldine Thornton and Mattie Pearl Lee; and brother, James Earl Lee. Prior to retirement, she was a clinical nurse with Dorothea Dix Hospital for over 28 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Surviving includes her husband of 68 years, James Chester Adams; sons, Michael Lynn Adams, Terry Lee Adams, and James Kevin Adams and wife, Jody; grandchildren, Shannon Lee Hinson, Brooks Lee Adams, and Jamie Lou Adams; sisters, Frances Mason and husband, Marshall and Alma Lee McLamb and husband, Ray; brother, Bobby Wayne Dunn; and several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM prior to the service at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson.
Flowers are welcomed.
