Shirley F. Aggen (nee Bacon) born April 16, 1928 passed into her heavenly home on
October 16, 2024 surrounded by love from her devoted family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred "Fred" Aggen Jr. and her son,
Richard Aggen. Shirley loved gardening and was also an animal lover her whole life.
She enjoyed spending time singing Lawrence Welk songs to her pet dove "Charlie." Her
many interests included women's clubs like TOPS and the Red Hatters, and attending
senior luncheons, plays, movies and watching Lawrence Welk every Saturday.
Shirley loved to paint art on canvas and was an avid shopper. She never left the house
without her lipstick-the Avon lady loved her!
Shirley is survived by her children: Debra (late William) McManus, the late Richard
(Donna) Aggen, Ronald Aggen, Donna (Timothy) Calder and Gina (Robert) Graniczny.
Shirley had 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 1great-great-grandaughter!
So many lives were touched with Shirley's love and friendship in her 96 years of life.
She will be greatly missed.
Shirley's memorial service will be held Saturday, November 2, at 11:00am at her church,
Redeemer Lutheran, 4955 158th St. Oak Forest, IL 60452. Graveside services at Mount
Hope Cemetery directly following, at 11500 S Fairfield Ave Chicago, IL, 60655.
